Trust Tell in Google Workspace

Do this once as a Workspace admin and everyone on your team can connect Gmail. It takes about a minute.

Open Admin console

This also copies the client ID.

  1. Under Manage third-party app access, choose Configure new app.
  2. Paste the client ID, select Tell, and keep your whole organization in scope.
  3. Set access to Trusted for the top-level organizational unit, then Finish.
Prefer to limit it?

Pick a child organizational unit in step 2 to trust Tell for only the people who'll use it, or choose Specific Google data in step 3 and allow these scopes:

  • openid
  • email
  • profile
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/user.emails.read
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.labels
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.compose
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contacts.other.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email
